SurgeryScreen uses one cookie, and only after you sign in. We don't use analytics, advertising or anyone else's cookies, so there's nothing to accept or turn off.

The cookie we use

NameWhat it doesHow long
ss_sessionKeeps you signed in to manage your displays. Set when you sign in, and removed when you sign out. It can't be read by scripts or sent to other websites.30 days

It is strictly necessary for the service you've asked for (signing in), so the law doesn't require your consent for it.

On waiting-room screens

A screen stores a few things in its own web browser so it keeps working without anyone touching it:

  • its display's screen key and a random screen ID, so patient calls reach it and it reports its health;
  • copies of the slides and pictures, so it keeps playing if the internet drops.

These stay on the screen's device and identify the screen, not a person. They are strictly necessary for the screen to work.

Removing them

You can delete cookies and stored data in your browser's settings at any time. If you delete the sign-in cookie you'll need to sign in again. A screen that loses its stored data carries on as long as it's opened with its full screen address.
